Frequently Asked Questions About Sheers & Shadings
Are sheers and shadings good for Arizona homes?
Yes. They can be particularly useful in Arizona homes with large windows and strong sunlight. Sheers and shadings allow you to diffuse bright sunlight and reduce glare while still maintaining a bright, comfortable atmosphere. They can also help protect furnishings from excessive sunlight. We'll help you select an option based on each room's sunlight, view, and privacy needs.
Can I still see outside with sheers and shadings?
Yes. One of the biggest benefits is the ability to maintain your outside view while controlling light and privacy. When the vanes are open, you can enjoy more of the view through the sheer fabric. The amount of visibility depends on the fabric, lighting conditions, and vane position, so we'll help you select an option that works for your space.
Can sheers and shadings be motorized?
Yes. Many sheers and shadings can be paired with motorized operating systems. Motorization makes it easy to adjust your shades throughout the day and can be especially convenient for large or hard-to-reach windows. Depending on the system selected, you may also have options for remote control, scheduling, and smart-home integration.
How do I clean sheers and shadings?
Regular dusting with a soft, clean duster or an appropriate vacuum attachment can help keep your sheers and shadings looking their best. Because fabrics and vanes can vary, cleaning recommendations depend on the specific product and material. We'll provide care instructions for the particular shades you choose so you can maintain their appearance over time.
Can sheers and shadings provide privacy?
Yes. Sheers and shadings can provide different levels of privacy depending on how the vanes and fabric are positioned. You can soften the view into your home while still allowing natural light to enter, or adjust the vanes for greater privacy. We'll help you choose the appropriate fabric and configuration based on your windows and the privacy level you want.
What are sheers and shadings?
Sheers and shadings combine sheer fabric with adjustable fabric vanes to give you flexible control over natural light, privacy, and views. You can adjust the vanes to soften sunlight, increase privacy, or open the shade to enjoy more of the view outside. They're an elegant option for large windows, living rooms, bedrooms, and spaces where maintaining natural light and views is important.
